We are doing great! We are still in Naivasha, and for the last couple of days we have had no internet access. Aldo and I climbed Longonot volcano (9,108 feet) with three of the guys from the 10/10 Project. I almost had a coronary. Ha ha ha. The rest of the team are on a boat ride. Today the team will be traveling to a beautiful place called Fisherman's Camp located on the shores of Lake Naivasha for a couple days. They will be meeting up will another team from the 10/10 Project that has been in Kenya as well. The trip from Nairobi was very long but very beautiful. We passed through some amazing country. At the present we're at an amazing orphanage called Shangilia ("Rejoice" in Swahili). This is truly a wonderful place. There are 45 children here and we are having a blast. Pam, Sherry, Aldo, Jacob, Andrew, and myself all played soccer with the kids this afternoon. It was great... We've been traveling all day to western Kenya... we're headed to a children's home that 10/10 is considering as a partner. Right now we're in the city of Kericho. We passed through miles of tea plantations and have stopped for some tea and a quick bite at a hotel in the city. Yesterday was a long but fulfilling day. This week has been so awesome. The Kenya people really know how to worship!! They are such beautiful people, generous, loving, happy, smiling all the time. Today was another amazing day. This morning we planted trees on the future campus of our sister church, Redeemed Gospel Church. Their present location is rented but the government recently gave them 3 acres… It’s a long story but it was an act of God that they were able to get their property for free. Today we had the privilege of planting trees at Redeemed’s new property. This property was basically given to them by the government and now they are working to transform it into a place for their church and school. These trees represent vision and hope for the future. Today was fun because we went to Humble hearts. Humble hearts was a deaf school but some of the kids were not deaf. All of them, deaf or not, were very happy to see us and very nice. When we arrived in Kenya we had no problems in customs… although getting our visa was a very long ordeal.
